Green Days

guided tours aimed to:

  • Reconnect schools children of various age to a more natural lifestyle.
  • Promote the recovery of the cultural and environmental values of their own land.
  • attract interest and awareness on environmental protection.
  • Promote outdoor activities and conscious consumption.

We believe it is important to let visitors see and touch our fields and animals during our tours, where they can learn the importance of where our food comes from, its origin, how they are produced and the periodicity of what we eat. We also share a behind-the- scenes look at the day–in-the- life of the animals that lives in our farm, showing their habitats, nourishment, peculiarities and care by stimulating all five senses. We provide an overview of the tasks involved in working the land and the farmer’s lifestyles which sometimes is underestimated.
Therefore our motto is getting our hands dirty!!!

Vegetable Garden & Orchid

since the past few years Mararanch has been involved in vegetables and fruits cultivation, acknowledging the importance of the use of simple and genuine whilom techniques.
In autumn-winter season we grow: garlic, chards, broccolis, carrots, cauliflowers, cabbages, chicories, onions, fennels and spinaches.
In spring summer season we grow: cucumbers, chards, onions, lettuces, eggplants, oregano, chili peppers, basil, peppers, tomatoes, parsley, rosemary, sage, pumpkins and zucchinis. According to our staff’s availability and workload, our guests can be accompanied in a guided tour of our vegetable garden and, if possible, they can directly gather the products.
Vegetables and fruits produced by our garden can be directly bought.

Our Plantation

We grow our own forage, based on oat and alfalfa, for ovine equine, bovine and all the courtyard animals.

The Winter Sea

The Summer Sea

the beach is at 200 meters from the farmhouse, easily accessible by a small gravel road situated right inside the farm or by the paved municipal road. The beach (a’Gnola) is wide and sandy, pebbles of different size and colors are concentrated along the shoreline. The cliff starts on the right side. The sea is usually very clean, with deep, cold and transparent water. It’s possible to enjoy public beach but several private kiosks (lido) offer beach services as well; being a guest of the farmhouse entitles you of preferred treatment in some of the beach kiosks.
